The next FLEX Net will be held on Wednesday February 14th at 8:00 PM.
This month’s net will take place on 80 meters LSB Phone. As most of you know there is a lot of activity on 80 meters in the evening, so after spending several evenings listening, my best guess for an open frequency will be 3.8975 MHz, +/- QRM. Please be prepared to change frequencies if necessary to avoid QRM or other nets/QSO’s. I hope to hear you then!

This month’s portable operations SIG is Tuesday, February 13th, at 7:00 PM.
We have a lot of stuff coming up this year; At least 3 more ParkPeditions, a recap of last month’s expedition to Wingfoot lake State Park, and who knows what else? Come on out to and join in the fun.
We’ll also be reviewing the results from last month’s Simplex contest. We’re planning to put in a more serious effort in 2025, to move K8BF up the page a bit.

World Radio Day 2024 will be on February 13, and this year’s theme is, “A Century Informing, Entertaining and Educating.”
World Radio Day was first celebrated in 2012, following its declaration by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) General Conference. It was subsequently adopted as an International Day by the United Nations General Assembly. Amateur radio is included in the celebration.
The EA Digital Federation designates the day as AO#WRD: World Radio Day, and they will have nine special event stations on the air on February 9 – 18. The stations will be active on different bands and modes, including phone, CW, and digital. You can locate the stations through the DX cluster or the agenda of activity on their website.

I have not done this before, but I thought I would notify PCARS DXers of this, since I’m sure that many of us have had QSO’s with Slavco.
S57DX (ex YU3TUX, YU3BQ, ST2R), Slavko Celarc, passed away on
February 4. He was a Contester, DXer and QSL Manager for multiple
stations. Our condolences to his wife S56DX, Pavia, his brothers
